GetYourSats / Learn

Bitcoin, made understandable.

Seven short lessons. One clear place to start.

Bitcoin basics

Learn about sats, self-custody and wallet setup.

Why only 21 million?

Bitcoin follows a programmed issuance schedule with a supply limit. New issuance falls over time. The supply rule does not guarantee a future market price.

Bitcoin and fiat

Fiat issuance can respond to policy decisions. Bitcoin follows a different set of issuance rules. Supply alone does not predict purchasing power.

What is a sat?

One bitcoin is 100,000,000 satoshis. Wallets can display and send bitcoin as smaller amounts in sats.

What is self-custody?

Your signing keys authorize wallet activity. A public receiving address can be shared; private keys and recovery words must stay secret.

Protect your recovery

Keep recovery words offline and private. Check that the recovery method restores this exact wallet before removing a device or passkey.

Use your GetYourSats wallet

Choose Start for a new wallet or Restore for an existing wallet. Understand its recovery method and the payment route before adding funds.

Check before sending

Confirm the recipient, network, asset, amount and total cost. If a payment result is unclear, check its status before attempting another payment.
