GetYourSats / Account

Leaving should be as clear as joining.

A simple guide to removing wallet data from your device, handling your passkey and requesting deletion of optional account records.

Before you remove a wallet, confirm you can restore it independently. A self-custodial wallet cannot be recovered by customer support. Never send anyone a seed phrase, passkey credential, PIN or private key.

What removal means

Logging out removes GetYourSats wallet data stored on that device. It does not reverse Bitcoin transactions or erase public blockchain records. Removing a passkey from a password manager is a separate action, and it may affect recovery on your other synced devices.

Before you log out

  1. Check your available wallet recovery method in Settings and confirm any backup is complete and recoverable.
  2. If you chose a manual recovery phrase, store it offline and never share or photograph it. If your wallet uses a passkey, confirm it is synced and that the restoration method is supported before removing the device.
  3. Resolve pending payments, swaps or unilateral exits before clearing wallet data. For an active unilateral exit, retain its required recovery data and seek support before proceeding.

Remove wallet data from this device

Open your GetYourSats wallet, go to the menu and select Log Out. Read the confirmation carefully. After logging out, the app's wallet data on this device is cleared. The account or wallet may still be restorable if your independent recovery material remains available.

Remove an associated passkey

Only after confirming an alternative restoration route, open the password manager you used for GetYourSats. On Apple devices, use the Passwords app. On Android, use Google Password Manager or your selected passkey manager. Search for the GetYourSats website or saved passkey and follow that provider's instructions to remove it. The provider determines sync and deletion across devices.

Request deletion of optional account records

If you use email verification when it is enabled, Upstash stores your verified email linked to your public wallet identity and a verification timestamp. That link remains stored until a supported removal process is completed. Resend delivers verification codes; the temporary wallet challenges expire after five minutes and the codes after 10 minutes. Email cannot recover your wallet or funds.

Logging out, clearing browser storage or deleting the app does not automatically unlink that email or unregister any Lightning address. When personalized GetYourSats names are enabled, registering or changing a public address through Breez requires a verified email. Receiving payments through an existing address does not require an email check.

Use the private contact form to describe the records or Lightning address you want reviewed. Submitting a request does not automatically delete records or unregister an address. We may request proof that you control the linked wallet, but never your recovery words, private keys or passkey credentials. Public Bitcoin transactions and records controlled by other providers are separate from this request.

If you're not certain your wallet is recoverable, do not log out yet. Visit Support before deleting local wallet data. Support cannot retrieve your private keys or recovery words.
